I figured it out. Have to take the knee bolster off, then there is a screw under where the ignition key is. The rest just unsnaps.
You might ask why I needed this info. Radar detector install. ![]() ![]()

Any way to get the chrome rings off the gauge cluster?
I've been wanting to get mine off and use some Krylon Fusion on them. I don't like chrome. I did the shifter bezel recently. Now I don't have to hold my hand over the shifter to keep the sunlight from blinding me. Very sneaky on the detector. Is there a toggle to bypass and shut it off? Nothing like getting pulled over to have it chirping away. |

It looked like you can. They are melted into holders that you could melt apart and back together. If you look at the pics from behind, you can see "tabs" coming off of them. Its like it is 3 pieces. The big trim piece, the chrome trim, the cans or whatever you want to call the tunnel that goes into the gauge.

yea, there is a switch under the dash that controls City/Hwy, Off and volume.

I like it for a few reasons.
First, it looks better in my opinion. Second, I didn't want something hanging down at my mirror. Third, when I was 16, I got rearended. The only thing that happened to me, was the radar detector swung, hit the windshield and then came back and hit me in the eye. I look at it as a safety thing. Fourth, Don't have to worry about someone stealing it.

So you bury it somewhere underneath/behind your dash... is it as effective that way? I thought it was a 'line-of-sight' appliance ?
