No, that is a factory piece that is black. In the angle of the first pic you can't see it, but it is there.
I am thinking of painting them to match the car. Just not sure yet.

Nah, keep it as it fits well with that black of the wheels. If anything, match the black of the wheels with that black trim.

Now that I see the rest of the car -- blacking out the rear to match the front and the rims works best. Very nice! The hood stripes don't split up the colors enough to make a difference.
