Hello, I have one question - my Challenger (se 3,6. 2011 year) has start/stop button and smart key, I'm interested if it has remote start engine? (is it possible not to have remote start engine?)
    Thanks

Does your Challenger have a manual transmission? If so, the remote start was not included.

It's still possible to install a remote start for your car, although it is tricky because of the sentry key system that we have in our cars. I would suggest the CompuSTAR 2 way alarm/start unit. The takeover procedure is better then any other manual enabled starter.

There is usually an added cost to installing in a manual transmission because extra wires and a clutch switch are needed. After installation, the car can only be remote started while the transmission is in neutral, and the ebrake is on. When you go to park, you will have to put the car in neutral, and pull the ebrake. The CompuSTAR now starts reading the vehicle. You take out your keys and the car will stay running. Open the door, and get out. Once you close the door, the car will automatically shut off and lock/arm the system for you. The car is now able to remote start because it knows that the vehicle is in neutral and will not take off on its own if you remote start the vehicle. It knows this because the car was still running when you let the clutch out and got out. So it must be stationary.
This is called "reservation mode." It monitors all of the doors and the ebrake. If you need back into the car for any reason, and any of the door or trunk sensors are tripped, you need to do the entire take over procedure again as it thinks that you could have accidently bumped the vehicle into gear.

Preferably, find a shop that has done LX vehicles before and is using the idatalink brand of bypass modules. Best Buy might have one.

    Thaks for your answer.
My Challenger has automatic transmission and it showed no error when I checked the car in service centre. And again I'm interested if it is possible my car not to have remote start engine or it should definitely have.

The remote start feature was an option on 2011 3.6 SXTs.

If you are not the original owner, the previous owner may not have paid for this option.

Click the button twice. If the car starts, you have auto start. If it doesn't start you don't.

It's possible your car didn't have that option. My Cousins Wife's Challenger is a base model with out remote start.
