I went with Airaid Blue and man does it make my Black Mamba roar. Be sure to mod the exhaust as well.

    Yo Mopar,

How do you like the roar on that thing?

    To each their own.

Most aftermarket have pretty outrageous HP claims. I researched for a long time and the hard tubes claim more HP because they stay cooler. Although the metal tubes may look cooler, they heat up with the engine and defeat the whole cold air purpose.
I went with the K & N. It made a tremendous difference as I believe the aftermarket exhaust had it craving more air. My wife thought I had done something mechanically to the car. I have a straight exhaust, so not that big a difference in sound, but you can definitely hear a difference.

I went with the MOPAR CAI on my 6.1 It is made by AEM and has a washable filter (no oil).

I like the sound and the fact that it compliments the billet parts in my engine bay (see photo). However, it probably doesn't add any more power, especially on the SRTs that have a very efficient air box.

I don't worry about the metal tube getting hot because the air is flowing through it so fast, I doubt if there is much heat transfer.

I have the Airaid intake. The reason why I bought it is the price I got from 4wheelonline. Great throttle sound; loud yet not annoying. Whatever brand of CAI you choose, consider upgrading your exhaust to gain extra hp.

Question - is it absolutely 100% necessary to remove the negative battery terminal when installing a new CAI?
