Road & Track had an interesting article comparing the "seat of the pants" feel between a 392 and the Hellcat.

While the Hellcat is obviously faster, the 392 seems quicker due to the short gearing.

I was wondering about this. What does he mean about seems faster? I haven't read the article yet but does the hellcat beat it out on all tests?

The 392 is not faster by any means, however, it "feels" faster because of the gear shifts. By the time the Hellcat maxes out second gear (at 90 mph), the Scat Pack's eight-speed automatic is in fourth.

I own a 392 T/A and haven't driven a Hellcat, but I certainly can feel the "Hold On To Your Boxers, Boy; We're Going into Low Orbit!" sensation when I drop clutch and go balls out on my T/A. :D
