I'm going to get a second set of wheels and tires for autocross. I'd like to save a few bucks and skip the TPMS sensors....other than the annoying message on the dash will the cars computer affect performance because it doesn't see those sensors?

To eliminate the TPMS warning, pull the fuse.

Is that fuse separate or will it kill something else?

Check your owner's manual. I believe that it is fuse #41 in the trunk.
