Default Challenger Insurance

I just received Liberty Mutual's "Smart Choice" car shopping guide. In this guide, statistics from the Highway Loss Data Institute are provided based on insurance claim data.

What I found interseting was that the Challenger SRT is rated lower for insurance than other Challenger models.

Here is the breakdown by category:

Combined losses/all coverage types- SRT- Not rated, Chall.-104
Collision: SRT-105, Chall.-117
Cost to repair damage to other vehicle: SRT-51, Chall.- 95
Comprehensive (theft/damage other than crash): SRT- 110, Chall.-147*
PIP: SRT-49, Chall.-77
Medical (preventing injury to driver/pass.): 7 SRT- Not rated, Chall.-9
Bodily Injury (preventing injury to other driver): SRT- Not rated, Chall.-82

*Worse than average
100= Average for each category. The lower the number, the better.

I assume the statistics are beter for the SRT because of its braking system, anti-theft alarm, age of driver, miles driven, etc.
