This only applies if you bought yours from a dealership.
This is especially for people who bought new, how were you treated and how much do you think they actually made off of you?
    Did you use TrueCar?

I can kind of answer your question. While I bought my pre-owned '11 Challenger R/T from a private party, we bought my wife's 2013 Charger R/T new from Garber Auto Mall in Green Cove Springs, FL.

The folks at Garber were outstanding to work with and still are. I'm sure they made a fair profit -- I hope so as I want them to stay in business. They worked with us to order the Charger just the way my wife wanted it (Jazz Blue with Ivory interior) and they honored a rebate that had kicked in after we ordered the car.

I bought my 2009 Challenger SRT 8 in December 2008 when they were very hot sellers. I had to pay MSRP at Frederick Dodge. Many paid "market adjustments" at other dealers. It was a seller's market back then.

I did not use TrueCar. In 2008, the Challenger was too hot of a car to get any kind of a discount. You were lucky to pay MSRP.

I did not. If it was around in 2013, I didn't know about it.

Fortunately ..... I've made some excellent friends in the car business. I know that I'm not going to just steal the car from them; and they know that they're not going to make their bonus on me.

I used Truecar but had some additional incentives added that dropped the price down to 27,800 for a 2016 R/T. I couldn't see paying for the R/T Plus or any of the other options, unless it was going to be a Scat Pack.

They had to have made some money off of me, just don't really know how much.
