After just over a month of ownership I noticed my first door ding in my Jazz Blue challenger. It was inevitable, but i wish it could have waited a few months longer lol. the only place it could have happened is in the parking lot of my own building because it's the only place where i have no choice but to park with a car on either side. I'm sure it was an accident but COME ON! I always try to be careful especially when i park next to a nice car! lol

It's a very small dent. like, smaller than a square centimeter, but it's right on the crease on the driver side rear quarter panel 4 inches from the door handle. (i'll try to post a pic later) It's barely noticeable, but I know it's there.

I thought about taking it to a Paintless dent guy and for less than $100 he can pop that sucker out, but i'm concerned it's actually too small for them to even remove. Usually what I just do is leave it alone and in a few weeks' time I tend to get over it. and then I accept it. but if i get more, i'll take it to a guy.

I'm considering fashioning a strip of magnetic tape/moulding that i can place on the body crease to protect it in the future. maybe i'll paint it blue so it matches.

any advice is appreciated, but I just really needed to vent. and you all understand the heart-wrenching pain of getting your door ding cherry popped. :mad3:

I would have the ding looked at by a paintless dent guy. You have nothing to lose. Maybe he can fix it.

For the future, you may want to consider magnetic door protectors.

If you want to go the low budget route, you can also make protectors out of colored pool noodles. You simply use one full size noodle (for outside) and a half-size noodle (for the inside). Then thread the string though them, making sure that it is the proper length to allow the noodles to line up even with your door crease. Use your closed window to secure them in place. This is a lot more cumbersome than the magnetic ones but it's cheap.
