    Hi All,

    Just joined the forum today.

I have had my 2015 Challenger R/T Plus for about four weeks now. First true Muscle Car I have owned. Car was purchased from Sunland Park dealership in El Paso Texas. Had it shipped out to NZ by Westcoast classics. Those guys did a great job.

Currently Winter time here so really looking forward to Summer when I can start enjoying some fine weather cruising.

Looking forward to learning more about the car and tips and tricks from the crew on this forum.

    Cheers - Owen

Nice challenger! Welcome to the forum! How long did it take to get it shipped to you?

Hi Shaggy, thanks for the welcome.

All up it took about 2 months to get the car here. A couple of weeks delay in the USA waiting on the DMV to send papers, then shipping to NZ. After it got here there were another 2 - 3 weeks while it went through biosecurity checks and vehicle compliance as well as getting the headlights altered.

I am absolutely thrilled with it. Something you don't see much of here in NZ so great to have something a little different.

    Cheers - Owen

Everything that enters NZ has to go through Biosecurity (Ministry for Primary industries)- especially used vehicles. First they fumigate the vehicle and then check to make sure were are not importing any foreign bugs or plant material stuck on the car.

As for the headlights, these needed to be converted for driving on the left hand side of the road. When you dip your lights they veer to the right correct? If we left them un changed over here that would be putting the light straight in to the eyes of on coming cars. Not sure exactly how they do it but needed to be done for vehicle compliance.

    Cheers Owen

So you are legally able to drive a car that has the wheel on the left when you guys drive on the left hand lane?

Yep - you have to get a permit issued from the transport agency. They allow up to 500 Left Hand Drive permits per year. Just another money making scheme for the government I think.
