New guy on the block 2014 Challenger 100th edition

    Hey all,

    Just joined to get info from people who have had trials and tribulations. Just purchased a 2014 Challenger 100th anniversary edition. went with the v-6 for fuel economy. Anyone else have this edition? Any words to the wise here? :handshake:

    Welcome to the forum I have the 3.6 Pentastar as well,: 'No MDS' > unlike the Hemi which employs the MDS (Automatic only).

    Don't have the 2014, rather 2013. Personally, I believe that the interior we have is consistent with a sport look, unlike the 2015' where the gauges were changed and the leather seating. We have the tuck and roll interior (leather), whereas the 2015 has added a different dimension to the spacing (wider tapered lines). I prefer the tuck and roll. The center console was also changed in the 2015, seemingly with an off center, diagonal look. Really do not care for that so-called update, nor the look of the 2015 gauges.

    The Pentastar 3.6 was Ward's top ten engines and is considered the fleet motor of FCA. When one purchases a vehicle, the motor is one of the most important aspects. The 3.6 has four roller chains with roller lifters, and D.O.H.C. Take care of that motor and it will last a very long time.

    The difference in the 14' as opposed to the 13' are few, with the same multi-link suspension, same platform. I hope you purchased the sport suspension with the 20's; a little stiffer suspension when you hit the button > 'Some say unnoticeable, but I can feel the difference.

    * Take this for what it may be worth. "Do not" change any components on the vehicle: exhaust, add a tuner, C.A.I., or any other thing. The mechanical engineers at Chrysler have dyno'd, and fine tuned all the specifications accordingly, including the velocity on the exhaust system.

    The OBD II runs through the ECM, in turn to the T.I.P.M. There are a great many sensors contributing to the performance, along with micro controllers in the radio leading to the steering wheel controls. The radio consists of two bus speeds; high or low which cannot be interchanged by swapping radios. There is built in safety protection on the circuits via the radio, 'a good thing'.

    We've checked and researched most every component to upgrade, even the lighting. The final opinion is to leave everything stock and you will not occur any problems, irrespective on any T.S.B.'s or recalls. There are a great many which cannot wait to begin experimenting by changing that which was formulated by engineers. We hope that you will not share with the crowd that is always experiencing problems, "After changing the stock specifications".
