Dodge has unveiled its latest Murica upgrade- a cool Stars and Stripes Edition- for the Challenger and Charger at the New York Auto Show. The appearance package is designed to be a patriotic salute to our military men and women and will be available starting in May 2019 for the Scat Pack, R/T, and GT RWD models.

Steve Beahm, FCA's head of passenger car brands in North America, summed it up as follows: "The Stars & Stripes Edition is an opportunity to deliver a custom look with unique elements that speak to those performance enthusiasts who want to extend their passion for their country to the Charger and Challenger."

The visual changes include a satin black and silver accent center stripe, satin black American Flag fender decals, 20-inch black wheels, and black trim badging. Bronze four-piston Brembo brake calipers are also included on all Scat Packs and also on GT and R/T models equipped with the Performance Handling Group. The interior sees a host of upgrades, too, with a mix of gloss black and bronze accents, stitching, and trim pieces throughout.

The Stars and Stripes Edition will be limited only to select colors, including Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Granite Crystal, IndiGo Blue, Maximum Steel, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, and White Knuckle. The special edition package will add $1,995 to price of the base car.

In addition to the Stars & Stripes Edition, Dodge will also be offering the Satin Black Appearance group for $3,495, and widening the scope of their Brass Monkey package to additional trim levels (a $795 upgrade).

FCA has also recognized that the Dodge brand has the highest percentage of active military buyers among the Big Three. As such, the company is now offering a special $500 discount to current and retired military members through an “Honor Those Who Serve” program.
