Racer X did a subjective comparison between the 6.4 Hemi, a 5.0 Ford Coyote and a 6.2 Chevy LT-1 engines.

He rated them in five categories. Here were his winners:

    1. Ease of Modification- Coyote
    2. Low End Punch- Hemi
    3. Top End Pull- Coyote
    4. Factory Optimized- Hemi
    5. Technology- Coyote and LT-1

    Agree or disagree?

Ease of modification is one I'm no expert on but to me it seems like all three have a huge aftermarket. The rest are pretty straightforward. The DOHC engine simply won't have the low end torque that the other two do but will flow better at higher speeds. I agree that the 5.0 Coyote is the best overall engine but for every day driving it's a bore.

Traditionally, Chevys and even Fords have been cheaper and easier to mod than Mopars.

I'm 61 and although I believe there's always been an aftermarket roughly proportional to market share, there doesn’t appear to be a shortage of aftermarket support for Mopar muscle cars.
