I'm getting ready to modify the exhaust on my 2019 Scat Pack widebody. I went through quite a learning curve when doing the same on my 2016 Durango last year, going through three configurations before getting it right, and was looking for input prior to hitting the exhaust shop.
Other than the exhaust, I intend to keep the car stock. I plan on doing a cat-back system and want it loud but not obnoxious. Definitely don't want drone and hate raspy sounding exhausts. I want it as deep as possible. So, what lessons have you all learned?

Never heard of them. Just checked their website. They only have a kit for the 6.4 up to 2014

Ok, finally took my car to the exhaust shop. I had a good idea of what I wanted to do but first wanted to actually see what the factory system looked like. Unfortunately, like many modern high-performance vehicles, the factory had done a rather good job of engineering the stock exhaust system and therefore modifying would not be such a straightforward process. If you look at the factory system, you might mistake it for a high-dollar aftermarket system. From front to back, there's nothing obvious to replace. Shorty headers, large diameter piping, clean X-pipe, very small low restriction mufflers and resonators. So, rather than start doing the usual cut and paste routine, I decided to start with eliminating the active exhaust. The shop suggested a manufacturer for an exhaust valve deactivation kit and I've already ordered mine. It's the MFER-1 kit and it's already shipped and on it's way! I'll check back after installation.

What is it about the active exhaust you dont like? While mine was on the lift I had a look at my exhaust as well. I really dont think I’d change anything on it. I was planning on reading up on how the active exhaust functions. I expected to see a type of gate valve under there like the old school valves.

I'd like it a bit louder at lower throttle angles. It actually sounds pretty good at WOT but if I had to deal with higher sound levels throughout the rev range, so be it. I hate, hate, hate raspy sounding exhausts and drone so I need to be careful what I do because these Dodges are raspy as hell by nature. When I was doing the exhaust on my 5.7 Durango it was hard to get even a decent tone IMO. We pulled the suitcase and left the resonators first. Sounded terrible. Then we pulled the resonators and it was even worse. Finally, I had them put an X-pipe up front and Magnaflow mufflers out back. It sounded ok. I should've gone with Flowmasters though.
Getting back to my Challenger, I decided to lock the exhaust valves open as a first step just to see what it gives me. Who knows? I just might leave it alone after that but I have a sneaking suspicion that a set of 3-chamber Flowmasters are in my future! Sure would be easier if I knew somebody with an exhaust I liked. Oh well, I'm stuck with the typical trial and error path.:(

I just watched a video by Work Play Drive on the MFER-1 plates. Very informative on how these function. I am going to experiment with the sound difference between track and sport to see if I can tell the difference.

Would be nice if there was a purely software solution but these kits appear to be a good solution as well. We shall see. Mine are scheduled for delivery on Tuesday.
