I'm not an owner yet - hopefully next week. My first car many years ago was a Chrysler New Yorker I bought for $200.00 with a bad transmission. Replaced with a $ 50.00 transmission and sold that car for $600.00 so i could buy a 1967 Dodge Charger, then upgraded that to a 1969 Road runner. Eventually went to a 1970 Buick GS 455. All those went to the way side. Since then, i've had a 2016 GTO with a blower and a C6 vette. Now i'm changing the vette for the Sinamon Anniversary Wide Body Scat Pack. This is worse than waiting for Christmas. i joined so i could learn about all the ends and outs of the Challenger. Truthfully - i don't know why i've waited so long. The Challengers and Chargers (even though it's a 4 door) sure do make a presence on the road when your coming up to them.
Welcome to the neighborhood! I'm guessing you meant 2006 ... not 2016 for your GTO. I had a '05 GTO that I enjoyed and kept for 8 years. And it's been Mopars ever since. Though, like you, I started with a Mopar. Back in '75, I had a '68 Dodge Charger R/T (440 with a 727 Torqueflite.)
Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is more than happy to help you spend your money on upgrades and accessories.
Learning how to reply on this forum. Time flies by - 2006 GTO (I loved the car, but tires were way too small). The one thing that was stopping me from buying the Challenger/Charger was that there were so many on the road with less horsepower. Then i got to thinking - the dodges I had had were 383's (I never had a 426 or 440) so i was forgetting i was one of the smaller engines guys (if you can call a 383 a small engine). The Dodges really bring back that muscle car feeling i was missing with the vette. Not only that - it's easy to get in a vette (gravity) but it's not as easy to get out (gravity again) LOL.
Really liked the GTO but the tiny trunk was a no-starter for me and the overall exterior design was kind of bland. Loved the interior (mainly the seats) and the driving dynamics (great manual trans). Ended up holding onto my Cadillac and added a Jeep Wrangler instead. The GTO's are becoming collector items now from what I've seen but one would never be worth what your Charger is.
