These petroliana type items from decades ago make for nice garage pieces. My Mopar cans are on the lower shelf under the Pure. The old gas station oilers and maps are enjoyable to display.
Yet another purchase. I bought these 3 old 1970's Mopar touch up paint racks that had most of the colors still. It's tough to get the individual colors so I couldn't pass up getting over 50 of them. Some were still applicable for 1960's models. It took me about two hours to clean and wax everything but it came out well. Now to find the space for it.
Not sure if anyone is following this, but if you are, here is another that just arrived today. It's from the age of the first generation Challenger. In really nice condition for $25.
Not Mopar related this time but some new additions for my petroliana hobby and collection just purchased Thursday at the Dixie petroliana show in Sevierville, TN. The Exxon signs are 1970's and newer, but real, not reproduced. They were filthy but cleaned up well just like the other items.
Did you ever watch the TV show American Pickers? Frank & Mike are really big on buying petroleum-related items for their stores. They often pay big money for old gasoline station signs.
^^^ Yes, my wife and I used to watch every week. We even went to their stores in LeClaire Iowa and in Nashville. It became a little too much after awhile, especially with them going to Italy. It kind of ended there for us, becoming 'over the top' rehearsed. They all are but the enjoyment for us went downhill. It's always tough to duplicate the first year or two of any of these type shows. It was fun at the beginning.
