I'm trying to figure out what tuner to buy.

My engine is srt8 392 hemi - 2011. I plan to start taking it to a track next summer.

No mods yet, but i plan on installing a cai and some kind of performance exhaust, at least. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford a supercharger, but you never know.

I was thinking of getting a trinity t2 9345. They go for $600 USD right now, but they started making these long after my car... should I just go with an intune instead? Or is the t2 worth the extra cost? Other options?

From what I understand the difference between them is you get gauges on the screen of the tuner. I had no plans of mounting that tuner anywhere to watch the gauges on it so I got inTune i2 ('13 SXT). It installed Tunes to the vehilce, I got a custom tune emailed to me (from a custom Tuner) it downloaded it and stored/installed it and that's all I needed it to do. You can get a hold of DS just to make sure whatever model Tuner you're buying is compatible with your vehicle. At least this was my experience ...

Sometimes Haste makes Wastes. A lot of times you can hunt around and find Custom Tuners that sell DS tuners just for a few dollars more, or just Retail, but they'll also include a custom tune and adjustments to That Tune included in the price. Couple years ago I also kind of jumped the gun got a tuner and then later found out I could have bought the same Tuner and got a free custom tune from Will, in Canada, but by that time it was a little late and I had to pay for my Custom Tune. Well ... Have Fun Tunin'!

You use a tuner with a V6? Can you let me know what you bought and what you gained?

i used a Diablosport Predator tuner back in 2009-10 for mine, Had a 3.5L with the 4 speed trans, I loaded up the canned 91 tune and it got better gas mileage as well as performance on the track. Now with the 3.6L pulling way more HP than the older 3.5L a tuner will fine tune and help out with throttle response , trans shift points, when you change tire size you can also tune it for that .

read towards the bottom for the V6 info.

No way I would pay a dime for that after reading the reviews.

they old style predator that i used was easy peasy, never had any problems out of it, when I sold it it was easy to unmarry it from the car and put it back to stock. not sure on the new ones, I have been using the trinity 1000 and now problems out of that one, very easy to use and doesn't take as long to load a tune. but the new trinity tuner looks a little more sophisticated for me.
