A guy I know has a body shop, and told me a while back that he owns 3 Challengers. I wanted to ask if he'd paint my brake calipers for me, as I don't even own a jack, so I stopped at his shop yesterday. He said he'd do it for $100, then asked if I wanted to see his 1970 Challenger that he's owned for 40 years. Of course I did.

We went back into the shop, and there sat his car looking like it was brand new, in show condition. He told me everything was new on it, and gave me a bunch of details that I thought you guys would enjoy.

The motor wasn't in the car, as it's currently being built in South Dakota. I saw pictures though. It'll be about 1200 horsepower. The paint was a glittery red that cost him $3000 per gallon. He needed 2.5 gallons. It's a convertible and the hood had to be altered a little so it wouldn't hit the belt for the blower, or whatever he had going on. The motor is much higher than the hood.

Anyway, I think he's hoping to get it done by summer. I might take some pictures of it next time out there. He said by the time it's done, he'll have put about $150,000.00 into it. It looks like it. :)
