    hi all,
I’ve got a 2015 r/t with the 8.4 radio w nav and sirius etc. I hate not being able to upgrade to carplay with my uconnect software and radio hardware so thinking of just buying a new whole radio unit for the 2016-current models. Is that all there is to it? Just pop the old one out and install a new complete unit from the later radios that can accept carplay? I understand there’s a USB media hub converter piece i’d have to get but everything else should be plug and play? Everything else should work as far as heated/cooled seats etc?

    Thanks in advance!

the stock radio has all the info of your car stored in it, so doing a swap out is not an easy thing. I m not really sure of the process either on how one would be swapped out knowing that the dealer does everything through that system as well as hooked up to the obd2 port.

Not sure if you are looking to engineer it yourself or have a plug and play solution. I am about to do some upgrades like this to my 2017 RAM and infotainment.com has kits for what I want to do. I bet they can help you...
