The SRT Alcoa wheels are forged and have lighter unsprung weight than cast wheels.

I, however, only recommend a 275/40-20 tire, as the maximum width, on this 9 inch wide wheel. Sure, you can squeeze a 285 or 295 tire on it, but the tire will not wear or perform properly (see diagram #2). Also, it may be dangerous.

20190214_205931.jpg Resurrecting a dead post that I started....I did find some OEM ALCOA SRT wheels and put 275/40/R20s on them. They needed the 5mm spacers to fit on a 2016 R/T. So far, they are great!

why did you need the spacers?. I have seen them on other RT with out the spacers.

I thought that the Alcoa forged wheels that came stock on the SRT, require 3mm spacers on the R/T to prevent rubbing.

The installer tried them without the spacers but the front wheels rubbed.

I'd heard different answers from no spacers to 3mm to 5mm were needed, so I just ordered the 5mm just in case. I may get 3mm to see if they will work.

I thought he said the rubbing was on the upper control arms on the front tires

That's correct, the rubbing is especially noticeable when turning.
