I am going to be getting a bit of money soon that I wasn't expecting, and was looking at upgrading my wheels and tires. I see I can get some wheels from Merrick Motorsports with the front being a 20x9.5 and the back being a 20x11. I talked to the owner and he said I could put 275/40/20 tires on the front, and 315/35/20 tires on the back, which is kind of the look I was shooting for. He said they would fit on my 2017 SXT Plus, without any clearance issues.

Is there a downside to doing this? If I do it, I would get summer tires, as I won't be driving this car in the winter after this year. Is there a decent tire that's not extremely pricey? I saw a review from a guy who owned a Hellcat and he put on Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires in this size and said they held up great with all that power.

I guess what I'm saying is that I can afford to do this once, and can not afford to make a mistake. Any help from you guys would sure be appreciated. Thanks.

never heard of that, know quite a few folks who have that combo on theirs and no problems, eventually I will go the 275 route on the rears,

I would look into what Merrick Motorsports would be using for wheel offsets. For example, yeah they may clear but would they be sticking out beyond the fenders?
I don't doubt you could get the best offset to fit the tires between the suspension and the fenders but you want to know what to expect for final results, with no surprises.

If the 315 were going to be a bit tight, I would consider 305's on 10.5" wheels. Still a nice look in my opinion.

I've been planning 315's for mine but I'd like to get maximum traction as well.

I’m running Replica 20x11 25mm offset with a 3mm spacer. Tires are Atturo AZ850 315/35R20. I got a set of TPM sensors for Rock auto. The slight issue I had was with the inner fender liner, a heat gun and some massaging corrected that. They don’t stick out past the fender at all. That was a concern I had however it never became an issue. Color is not an exact match I will have all six wheels powder coated when I decide on a color. I’m just waiting to wear out the tires first. I’ve been running this setup since July last year granted I’ve only put about 800 miles or so on it since the install. Hope this helps.

I decided to go with the exact tires and wheels Todd Merrick runs himself. This is his car.

    That car does look good.
Looks to be lowered a bit.
What are those wheels called? Those appear to be the ones that come on the T/A Challenger. I can't find them anywhere.

Merrick Motorsport makes them. Black or bronze. For $1499.00 you get 2 front wheels of 20x9.5 and two 20x11 rears. I’m getting the black ones in a couple weeks.

Here is 265x40x20 on stock SRT 9" front
and 275x40x20 on 9" rear (With mudflaps)
Had to take a timber road home last night because of a crash.
Not doing that again in the Challenger, ended up pushing snow with the spoiler again
