I have been hearing in some places such as YouTube about the camshafts on the 5.7 Hemi wearing out due to roller bearing failure causing one or more cam lobes to flatten out. Has anyone heard of this? If so, are there any alerts or general knowledge regarding such?
We put 200,000 on our 5.7 Only changed when I lost a valve spring Use oil applications etc come to play Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have watched a couple of videos showing the lifter needle bearings seizing up. You’d think Chrysler would address this if it’s been a big issue.
well as of May of this year, over 200k on my wife's jeep 5.7 HEMI and still going. . . . Never had this engine apart.
Just another reason why I decided to run full synthetic oil in my 5.7. I plan on only putting about 9,000 miles/yr on my car but after reading a different thread about synthetic oil on this forum I was convinced it's better to be safe than sorry.
Would get the valve spring tool an change them out now FYI you can use the old hand crank style the new springs have a cage like the srt They make a tool best price with snap on just for this bolts on rocker shaft mounts an allows you to change without removing head, apply air to 1 side keep valve up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cool Tool Yea, I have the Air Valve to Sparkplug adaptor made up for LARGE PLUGS. All my 440's went through valve seals more often than sparkplugs. Guess I better make one up for 5/8" with HEMI Extension. Thanks
