Has anyone with a manual transmission tried removing the CDV restrictor. Apparently the clutch delay valve limits the fluid flow to the clutch. There are several videos on Youtube showing it being done.
    Just curious more then anything.

Sooo, I was a little board last night and did a bit more reading on other forums etc....and decided to give it a try.
Not the easiest thing to get to but relatively easy to do. Once done I pump the clutch the recommended 200+ Times to bleed any air through and then went for a test drive. I definitely found quicker clutch response and less lag until it engaged. The shift does seem a bit less notchy as well. I think with the restrictor gone there is definitely more fluid pushing the through out bearing quicker.
I’m not saying this is the right thing to do but I am saying I like the result. I’m not going to copy and post from other forums or YouTube but if interested just Google Challenger CDV delete and you’ll get lots of info.

    Well that was totally anti-climatic

Took me longer to get my baby up in the air high enough to get my Fat Ass under the car.

Did a couple quick Launches, didn't really notice anything obvious,
but at least I have the piece of mind knowing those little rubber parts aren't obstructing my Clutch Line.

Who the F thinks sh!t up like this.
I liked it better when Mechanics designed and built cars

Now you need a Barton shifter. Then the fun begins.

I’m surprised you didn’t feel any difference. The thing I remember was a quicker engagement on clutch release. The pedal didn’t have to travel out as far before i could feel the drive train engage.

I thought of the Barton, but really like my Pistol Grip.
And as good as Hurst was to me for replacing the 1st Hurst Shifter I broke,
    I will stick with them.
Can't find the current pic without the Console, will have to take another

Barton offers a pistol shift handle.

Admittedly ... it's not the same as the sexy old-school Hurst pistol grip.

A CDV has an important purpose. It reduces drivetrain shock in the event that an inexperienced driver quickly engages the clutch at higher revs.

If a clutch engages too quickly damage can occur to the transmission, differential, half shafts, axles and CV joints. Conversely, if the clutch engages too slow, it can damage the clutch friction disc and cause slippage.
