I just bought a 2010 Challenger SRT8. Great vehicle to say the least. My questions....

When i start it up something rattles in the dash, then it goes away after about 10 seconds?

My windows auto works when I close them, but when I open them auto dont work?

Where can i get the SRT8 trunk decal?

Where can i get the hood dodge ram?

Aside form an oil change....what should i do to the car as far as maintenance or what yall advice?

Its got 83000 miles on it. Hauls ass too. hahah.

OH one last thing... when in park and on or at a long stop light....the engine seems to want to turn off but it does not....the interior lights also dim down a little when it happens...what could it be? maybe needs a tune up?

    thx.

Welcome to challengerforum. I tried to answer some of your questions:

Q: My windows auto works when I close them, but when I open them auto don't work?

A: Try to reprogram them by following these steps:

    1) Run the window all the way down, and continue holding the down button for 5 seconds after the window reaches the bottom.
    2) Run the window all the way up, and continue holding the up button for 5 seconds after the window reaches the top.
    3) Repeat step 1.
    4) Repeat step 2.

Q: Where can i get the SRT8 trunk decal?

You can buy one from the dealer or on E-Bay:

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...=0&_odkw=dodge+ram+hood+emblem+for+challenger

Q: Where can i get the hood dodge ram?

    A: Same as above.

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...dodge+ram+hood+emblem+for+challenger&_sacat=0

Q: Aside form an oil change....what should i do to the car as far as maintenance or what yall advice?

A: If you do not know the maintenance history, I would have the cooling system flushed. Also, have someone check the condition of your brake pads and get a fluid change. Although your platinum-tipped spark plugs should be good for 100,000 miles, think about replacing them soon.

Some other things you may want to do is to replace the air filter (if dirty) and the power steering fluid.

I would also check the condition/age of your tires. If you see spiderweb cracks in the sidewall, replace them. They are starting to dry rot.

Q: When in park and on or at a long stop light....the engine seems to want to turn off but it does not....the interior lights also dim down a little when it happens...what could it be? maybe needs a tune up?

A: Have the charging system checked. It sounds like you have a bad alternator or loose serpentine belt. Also, get a new battery if it is 4 or more years old. An excellent replacement is the Bosch Platinum.

i assume that you have a different or a custom nose badge, you can get all kinds of nose badges made. https://rebadgedesign.com can make all kinds. all challengers from 2008-2010 had the ram nose badges. 2001 were nose badge free. I have a 2009 and actually did away with all the ram logos on the car. steering wheel and also the wheel center caps. I use the mopar caps now...... the Ram now is just associated with the trucks. I guess that you are wanting to put it back to stock form. but to me that ram is ugly on the front, IMO....

There is also an app you can download to your phone or tablet called "MY MOPAR". You can enter your VIN# (for all your Mopar vehicles)and it should pick up your model automatically. The app will provide you with recall information, a full maintenance schedule and service records if work was done by a dealer. It should give you a pdf version of the owners manual too. You can enter any future service done for easy tracking. For my cars it even shows the exact equipment my car has.
For an iPhone, the app icon is white with a blue mopar M.

I replaced my battery with a vented Bosch Platinum, H7/L4/94R. It is built with glass mat technology and lasts longer. Also, it has more cranking power than the OEM (800 CCA and 960 CA Reserve). I also comes with a 48-month free replacement warranty. Cost- $219.

Here is an article that discusses the benefits of an AGM battery.

my sister in laws Jeep Cherokee with the 3.2l takes the same battery as our car. and she is having problems with the auto start and stop. dealer checked it out and it is loosing amperage. so she needs to get one, and i kinda laughed when I told her how much the battery was going to be...
