was able to get access of a 6.1SRT intake this past week. just waiting on the stock fuel rails to come in. along with the intake came the intake gaskets and bolts. pretty much will be able to use the map sensor from my 5.7 he already had some billitt fuel rails on the intake but they wont work with the shaker as they will raise the scoop box up about 1/4 inch. so it would probably his the hood the guy I bought it off of went with a holly intake plus he is also Procharged. i know these intakes can get pretty pricey but for $500 i was able to get this off his hands. my mechanic from my dealership will be doing the install, he is the only one that touches my car anyways. but he will do this in his shop at his house. not sure on the added power I will get but anything will help. I run 93 oct all the time so no change in gas there, I run the 91 tune on my trinity. Called Cervini as to see if it will fit under my shaker and they assured me that it will work. since their kit is for the 5.7,6.1 and the 6.4 engines. if it doesn't work out then I can always go back to stock and sell it down the road.
Well, finally made the swap from the 5.7 plastic intake to the aluminum 6.1 SRT intake yesterday. Swap didn’t take about 45 minutes. Everything bolted right up for the trial run. I left off the valve covers at that time since I wanted to modify the shaker box to allow more ventilation of the heat. As far as performance goes. I can feel a more aggressive take off. I am going to adjust fuel flow with my trinity tuner. But over all it runs great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
so far car runs great. will work with the tune to bump up the fuel ration a bit, but over all it is a thumbs up!!
