The recall applies to 2015 and 2016 models.

The Evaporative Emissions Canister is located in the right rear wheel well above the tire. The tech has to remove the wheel and fender liner to access the canister to change it out.

It's about a two hour visit- call ahead and make sure they have the canister in stock for your work.

    * What do you mean, 'the fender line', are you referring to the wheel well? What is the 'fender line'? I really do not wish to have someone muff up the recall. I've scheduled an appointment for tomorrow, March 11, 2020. When I initially made the appointment, service said it would be about a week to get the canister in. However, the following day of scheduling the service, service said the part had arrived. Naturally, I'm taking pictures and a video of the part and also the exterior of the car and where the canister is positioned. Most everyone has said it takes a little more than an hour, every post I've read. Two hours seems like a long time. Would you know what FCA has allowed in time for labor? Thanks very much for the info.

    * Gas tank side or passenger (Location) ?

SRT Tom is referring to the fender liner which is a cover inside the wheel well. I doubt you’ll have any trouble with the actual work or removal of the cover.
I was in and out in 1.5 hrs but the time will vary depending on what else is going on at the dealership and if the tech is running behind schedule, etc.

Thanks very much. I was believing that the 'fender line' was the bottom panel. I feel a little more at ease that it is a "fender liner". Regardless, I'm still taking video on the lift prior to installation. The technician that serviced my vehicle for five years at Tasca Dodge, left to move to the new Tasca dealership. Basically, he just changed the oil. However, at the last service schedule the technician was no longer there. The dealership said that no Mark was ever here and we have only one Mark. After meeting him 'Mark', that was not the Mark. A conversation ensued for about twenty minutes to one-half hour as to the original Mark. I said there is a technician number attached to the service record. Still, they refused to admit Mark was ever there. In fact, they said "Do you mean Mark at the location in Woonsocket"? I said "no", that's Tasca Chevy. Finally, I said I have audio and video with about five service personnel standing at hand, along with the General manager. After a half hour of argumentation and stating I have audio and video, the General Manager said he was fired for drinking on the job. This was somewhat of a mystery to me but said nothing. In fact, I caught Mark speaking behind my back, capturing him on audio which he knew not that he was being filmed and recorded. This is a treacherous world with evil people. I cannot tell you how much audio and video I have of service technicians and others of how they speak and act. Personally, i trust no one in this generation. I have the evidence to prove it. Sorry for the long story.

    * I called Tasca Dodge to make an appointment, and service said 'When do you want to bring it in"? I said, "Do you have the canister". Service placed me on hold to check with parts. When returning, service said it would be about a week to get the part. The following day, service called me and said the part is in. What do any make of that, from one week to one day? Again, I'm taking video and pictures of the canister.

Wow, what a story. I doubt dealerships are always out to get us, but agree, they aren't all geared toward customer satisfaction. It's strange that they first told you the guy never worked there, maybe they were just trying to avoid saying too much and you would just drop it. In today's world of eager attorneys, every manager at any company has to avoid potential law suites. They shouldn't have told you WHY he was fired, only that he NO LONGER works there. That ex-employee could have a case against them for stating the reason for firing.
As far as the part, dealer networks will share inventory, so they may have gotten it from another dealer. Even if it was shown as "on order, in transit" I question if they would stick their neck out and tell you it'll be in tomorrow because you'd be more upset if it didn't show up. They might have given you a longer estimated date "out of an abundance of caution". Heh, heh.
Either way, you got it taken care of and that's what matters.

    * I agree with you 100%. You're right on target about the tech no longer working there, and you're absolutely correct when management mentioned the fact, whereas they could have just said, 'he no longer works here', as you state. Surely, litigation can be part of the matter, 'only if the assertion is untrue'. Thanks much for your input. My car was assembled in Canada, at Brampton Ontario. Most likely, as someone said, 'there could have been a delay in Canada' for the UB4 recall. Hope this is the last recall.

Three recalls since purchasing new: Alternator, Airbag inflator, and now the Evaporative Emission canister. I'll never purchase a new car ever again, they're all junk. I drive my Oldsmobile daily and absolutely love it.
