Dodge has shown a futuristic design of the Challenger than has been rejected by FCA. The next generation Challenger, however, is rumored to be before the 2023 model year.

Ralph Gilles said he never shows future product on social media ahead of time but he made an exception. The image was posted as inside joke because the designer's sketch included yellow chin spoiler guards. Reportedly, it gave everyone a big laugh.

Honestly can't wait to see a new version of the challenger. It hasn't changed looks in years.

The overall design is what attracted me to begin with. My first car was a '70 'Cuda and I've always loved the lines of that car. If they change the overall look, they will kill the car in the eyes of us older buyers...who I believe make up the majority of Challenger buyers.

If it lasts until 2023, the current body style will have had an incredible 14-year run! The 1st. generation Challenger only had a 5-year run (1970-1974). It's time for a new and lighter body.

As long as they keep the retro style. Otherwise it’ll resemble a Mustang or Camaro... not good.

That is what's crazy, 14 years! Love the look but it does need a change.

I agree. The new look does need to keep the retro look, but it does need a change.

Not a fan of the space age look all of these concept cars seem to have.

That's the problem with a retro design theme. How to move forward from it. Dodge knows if they move away from the retro style they stand a good chance of losing a large part of their market.

True, but I think, after 14 years, Dodge has exhausted all of the tweeks that it can make to the 2006 retro concept design. The only thing that would be new and still retro, would be a lightweight 'Cuda model.
