This video discusses the manifold issue. May be worth a watch.

Exhaust leak caused ticking should be worse at cold start up and go away or greatly get reduced as the engine warms up. Lifter caused ticking will remain constant. Another way to verify an exhaust leak is to have someone momentarily cover the exhaust outlet with a rag. If doing so causes a change in the noise, it’s definitely an exhaust leak.

Here is Racer X's take on the Hemi tick. In his video, he makes the following points:

    1. The "tick" only occurs in 2.5-5% of the 5.7 and 6.4 engines that have MDS.

    2. If the "tick" goes away after the engine is warmed up, it is caused by an exhaust manifold bolt backing out near the number 8 cylinder of the 5.7 engine.

    3. If the "tick" does not go away after the engine is warmed up and you only hear it while idling, it is probably the MDS lifters.

A law firm, Gordon & Partners, is investigating Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep for potential engine defects in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 vehicles equipped with the 5.7-L and 6.4-L Hemi.

Their website states" "The defect may initially present as an engine ticking noise which may result in engine failure. These engines appear to have defects which can cause engine failures which likely effect the safety and the value of your vehicle."
