Racer X has published a video, listing the following 6 basic things you should avoid on a 6.4 liter equipped Scat Pack:

    1. 87, 89 or 91 octane gas (use 93).
    2. 245/45-20 tires (As a minimum, install 275s).
    3. Don't straight pipe the exhaust (excessive drone).
    4. Don't unlock the PCM for tuning while under warranty.
    5. Don't install an aftermarket air intake for additional power.
    6. Use proper 0W-40 viscosity oil and check the level on a regular basis.

I snapped at the dealership...while i was doing the paper work they filled in with 87 octane. Will be 93 octane from now on though. Also if i get interior mods at the dealership will my warranty be void?

87 Octane wont hurt anything just not get Max performance and it will not void the warranty but 91 and up is best with that setup, if you got sxt, rt, 89 up and recommend non ethanol for best performance and fuel efficiency.

The PCM will retard the ignition to prevent pre-detonation (pinging).

Isn't "Don't Supercharge the 6.4" on the list?

Cuz the boost isn't that high and the rest of the downstream parts can't handle the extra stress?

There are many 6.4 engines that are running superchargers. Assuming a properly tuned system, proper oil change and engine maintenance and similar driving, supercharging generally, will not shorten the life of an engine, just as is the case with OEM turbocharging (with proper cooldown for turbochargers.

Four excellent brands are Procharger, Hennessey, Magnuson and Whipple. Expect to pay up to $7K for a complete kit. A cheaper, less cosmetically pleasing one, is an Edelbrock. Check out these websites.

You should be aware, however, that when Dodge developed the 707 hp. 6.2 supercharged engine, one of its concerns was reliability. To avoid unnecessary warranty claims, several things were done to the engine to enhance its strength. Here are some of them:

·Forged aluminum pistons are unique to deliver the 9.5:1 compression ratio.

·A new structure and alloy was used for the connecting rods and pistons.

    · Pistons have DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) to reduce friction losses and increase the load-carrying capacity.

·Shorter piston stroke- advantageous considering the block-deck height and connecting rod length used is from the 6.4 HEMI engine. One of those is the increase in compression height of the pistons.

·More piston material between the piston crown and wrist pin (creates more space for beefier ring land and allows the top ring to push farther down the bore. This prevents the components from extreme cylinder pressure and heat).

·The first compression ring features a PVD coating.

·Piston skirts are graphite coated, and the piston pin is DLC coated.

·Increased crank overlap between the main journals and rod journals that overlap each other.

·Cylinder head is cast with upgraded 356-T6 alloy.

·Enhanced 6.4 forged crankshaft to improve wear resistance as well as performance. The crank journals are induction-hardened– a localized treating process for the entire crankshaft compatible with higher-load capacity bearings.

·The crank fillets have increased fatigue strength; the microgeometry and bearing clearances are optimized on the Hellcat Hemi crank. The carbon-coated pistons swing on floating pins for enhanced load resistance.

·Better cooling efficiency with a new and distinct water jacket geometry to allow for better water flow around the top of the cylinder to regulate the temperature on the bore walls and head gaskets to prevent premature deterioration).

·The pulley bolt size was increased by 2mm, and a diamond-coated washer between the crank and pulley offered a high friction coefficient.

·Has special hollow-stem, sodium-filled exhaust valves capable of withstanding high temperatures up to 1475 Fahrenheit.

No after market cold air intake, why not?

RacerX claims that aftermarket intakes do not produce any additional horsepower. Watch his video at the 5:14 minute mark.

Yeah, they (as most companies) have plenty of air in with the stock box.
