I would like to get Hagerty Insurance on my 2009 SRT, but I do not have a garage- only a car cover. That is one of their requirements.

You are partially correct. If you do not have a garage, they will still insure your car, but you must rent an indoor facility to keep it. Hagerty will then need the address of the facility.

I just got an online quote for $1,409 per year. Although this is $614.60 more than I am paying with GEICO, it covers full replacement cost, with no depreciation and $0 deductibles.

When I did the online quote it was higher also… I went to my local Allstate agent and got the actual price and I pay $790 for the year. Which was way lower than what I was paying at State Farm. I have mine insured for $35,000. And fixing to increase it to $40,000…

All of collector car insurance companies require the car to be kept in a fully enclosed, lockable, building when not in use. Carports don't count. Not even with 3 walls and a ceiling. If you have one like that, install a garage door and you're all set.

Read your policies and be aware of the difference between ACV (Actual Cash Value or Depreciated Value) Coverage and Agreed Value Coverage.

With ACV if your car cost you $25,000 and it's depreciated to $17,000 today, you get $17,000 less your deductible if the car is totaled.

With Agreed Value if you insured your car for $25,000 it will always be insured for $25,000 in the event of a total loss.

Those of you who are insuring with regular insurance companies might not be getting what you think you are getting.

It's imperative to read the policy forms because some Stated Value policies can be subject to depreciation.

    I'm a retired insurance guy.

Am I over emphasizing read the policy. Yes, I am. If you don't understand your coverage and have a claim, you'll have an unpleasant surprise and you'll cry.
