Any suggestions. I would like to add shakedown or a trunk stripe myself. I restore classics as a hobby but this I have not done before Anyone have any suggestions in laying this down. Is there a product that can be used to adjust the stripe/ move around for proper positioning Any information would be much appreciated

Here is a good DIY video. The key to repositioning the stripe is to use a spray bottle with soapy water. Just follow the steps.

There is also a Gel you can get to help make the decals move for a bit to tweak then squeeze out with a plastic spreader like you use for doing body fill.

Mark Worman, the owner of Graveyard Carz, uses an application gel (watch video) and prefers Phoenix Graphics for vinyl decals.

I went to a place that installs vinyl graphics and they wanted like $800. My car has ceramic coating and he had a piece of vinyl that he could use to test it and it would not stick to the ceramic coating. He said I would have to remove all the ceramic coating with "Rapid Prep" or use clay.
Is there a big difference in the vinyl quality that you may find on the internet?

Yes. Stick to well-known suppliers, like PhoenixGraphix and RiderGrafix.

Unfortunately, you will probably need to remove the ceramic coating where the stripes are to be applied in order for them to adhere properly.
