    Thank you and hello fellow people. I picked up a 2014 SRT8 Core last year. It's got the front strut brace and been lowered and I installed the Barton shifter (6M) towards the end of last year. Recently I've started hearing a low hum in the front of the car and it gets higher the faster the vehicle goes, can start hearing it around 30mph and definitely hear it at 45 mph. I lifted it up and checked the wheel bearings, side to side is solid, up and down is very slight play but enough I can hear it knock as I wiggle it but it's the same for both sides. Could both wheel bearings be going out at the same time or should I be looking for something else to be the problem?

    I look forward to interacting with you all and hopefully become a little more knowledgeable.

    When driving at low speed see if you can hear a clicking sound coming from the front end with the window down, both can go at the same time. If they click at low speed (3to 8 mph) and hum at high speeds time to change both

    I can't hear anything unique until about 30mph, but it is quite noticeable. I also noticed if I steer right the noise goes away but steering left does not.

    I'll get some pictures up soon but it's nowhere near a show car. I've already had it in for a woman running a red light turning right so I had to take it up a curb and she still made contact with my right side. On a side note I changed the brakes tonight and I have to say, I want every car to have Brembo's. The fact you don't have to take the caliper off, amazing! Just remove the 2 pins, replace the pads and slap it all back together, took me maybe 10 minutes, taking the wheel of and all once I figured it out.

    Also I was going to check the driveshaft carrier bearing but it is completely blocked by the exhaust. Is there any way to check that without pulling the exhaust off?

    The first sign of faulty wheel bearing is obviously the humming noise. Second sign is that the noise changes when cornering, which varies depending on the steering angle and thereby increases or decreases: a “hum” when turning left, for example, usually indicates a defective wheel bearing on the right-hand side and vice versa.

    Another possible cause of a humming noise is unevenly worn tire tread (i.e., tire cupping or scalloping). In your case, this wouldn't be the problem because you stated that the noise goes away when you turn right.

    Also it did end up being the front right wheel bearing so that was the first thing I replaced and voila, thank you Tom.

    Also to fill you in on the second pic;
    I ordered the Barton short throw shifter and broke my leg 2 days before it arrived. I got so bored just sitting around the house and was anxious to put the shifter in so it may have taken me a bit longer than it should have but it helped keep me sane while I was broke. So anybody wondering how hard that install is, I did it with a broke leg with no problems. The bad thing was I couldn't test drive it for 3 months though so all I could do was admire it.
