Just remember that the horsepower wars of the late '60s and early '70s came to a screeching halt. There was an amazing drop-off in power by the mid-'70s.

Today is the true heyday of factory muscle. I'm going to enjoy it for as long as I can. And ... I'm pleased to report that my clutch knee held up just fine over our 2,000+ mile trip to the mountains and back.

LOL the "horsepower wars" this time around have been won handily by Dodge.
I think this power renaissance will continue in spite of the efforts of people who hate all that is male and American.

The basic 5.7 Hemi can make 520hp (or more) naturally aspirated with few modifications. It is the new king of V8 engines. Why not make a 4.9" bore-center version that is a big block?

Why not just run up the score even further?

Speaking of the Mopar Gathering in Pigeon Forge I was there two years ago for the National Lil Red Express Owners club meet! I had my 1979 Lil Red Express there for the meet! We had 22 Lil Red's there from all over the U.S. I won a first place trophy with mine and was very happy! There were 7500 Lil Red Express Trucks made in 1978 and 1979 combined. We have a National Registry for the trucks and it includes trucks in other countries also. Our club has a pretty good estimate of approximately 3500 Lil Read Express Trucks still in existence.
Just attended the meet this year heald in Alexander City Alabama, the meet was hosted by Tim Wellborn who has Well-worn Muscle Car Museum there and is a huge Mopar collector 99 percent of his collection is big blocks which are mainly 426 Hemies and 440 cars. You may have seen him before on Mecum where he sells and buys high dollar cars!
