Sprint Booster

    Has anyone tried the Sprint Booster on their Dodge (or any other make of vehicle)? How does it perform? Is it worth the money?

    Sprint Booster improves throttle response (i.e., makes it more sensitive), just like Pedal Commander and Pedal Monster. It does not increase horsepower and may only make your car feel faster. If your engine has no lag, like my 6.1, it is a waste of $289, in my opinion.

    The Sprint Booster makes no difference to how quickly the engine management receives and interpreters the signal from the accelerator pedal. The engine does not respond faster. It cannot respond faster. The only difference is the engine management thinks the pedal is being pushed further than what it really is.

    Some people are extremely satisfied with their sprint booster, reporting something like “the engine response was so good I smoked the wheels pulling out of my driveway.” But what has really happened? The driver has accelerated harder than he or she wanted to. Essentially the driver has lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle has done something the driver did not want to occur. This is not a benefit.

    Actually, it’s a disadvantage. Without the Sprint Booster, the driver could have still smoked the wheels by pushing the accelerator pedal harder. With the booster, the driver has lost precision in throttle control. Throttle control becomes jerky rather than smooth. In fact, compressing the range of throttle voltage into a reduced amount of pedal travel means the throttle control is approaching a more on/off type arrangement.

    Some people explain that, when they turn off their booster, the car feels extremely sluggish. Over time they have learned to adjust their foot control for the overly sensitive accelerator pedal response. It will take time for them to re-learn how to drive with it turned off.


    However, it's your money and you may still want to give it a try.

    Thank you for your thoughts, Tom. You stated something I thought about as well...losing control. My Challenger is not lagging a bit!

    You have 2 options for Throttle Response a Enhancer I use the Banks Pedal Monster love it and it has tons more features beyond the others.
    Also Diablo makes one called AMP'D not as robust yet falls into the same category how ever the Diablo has a Adjustment Curve setting and custom
    settings you can choose as does the Banks. The Monster also has accessories for it that can Data Log, ad ODBII Diags.
    Honestly I dont like a device that is using the same voltage to feed it as my Throttle Pedal which can cause a Limp Mode.
    Banks designed there nice with a 12V connection off the ODBII Aux Voltage should if fail it will not trigger a Limp Mode and a Reverse Bypass for more safety.

    The Diablo is newest among the Enhancers who knows what later ones may do, Keep in mind Diablo is also one of the top Engine Tuners next to the HP.
