THE NEW LAST CALL CHALLENGER WILL BE CALLED THE Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 everybody including me was wrong on the name. With rear flares only , written by, Patrick Rall March 20, 2023

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170: 1025 horsepower
We knew that the seventh and final Last Call special edition car would be more than an appearance package, but the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is more performance than we expected for less money than we expected. There is loads of information to unpack on this model, but we will cut to the chase and talk about the numbers that everyone really cares about. The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is powered by a 6.2-liter Hemi topped by a 3.0-liter IHI supercharger. When running on E85 (85% ethanol), it makes 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque. Even on 93 octane pump gas (E10 ethanol), the Demon 170 will make 900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque. The driver doesn’t need to do anything when changing from gasoline to ethanol blends read more and see pics @ https://www.stellpower.com/news-2023/dodge-challenger-srt-demon-170-1025-horsepower/

A few more bits of information.

The Challenger SRT Demon 170 comes with several upgrades, including a modified 3.0-liter supercharger with a larger snout, a 105mm throttle body, and a 3.02-inch pulley that increases boost pressure by 40% over the Challenger HELLCAT Redeye Widebody. It also features a patent-pending TransBrake 2.0 that provides torque-shaping capability and easier driver interaction to dial-in preset torque limits.

Additionally, the Challenger SRT Demon 170 achieves full horsepower output through high ethanol fuel blends, with horsepower levels determined by sensing the percentage of ethanol fuel content. The car also comes with never-before-seen 315/50R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials and Mickey Thompson 245/55R18 ET Street front tires, which provide extra force on the strip or street.

The Challenger SRT Demon 170 is built with a staggered widebody design, making it the first-ever factory production car built with staggered drag radial tires and fender flares. It also features an all-new driveline with a 240mm ring gear, a 53% stronger differential housing using aerospace-grade metals, a rear prop shaft 30% stronger, and stronger half shafts.

Production of the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will begin this summer, with a limited run of at most 3,300 units, 3,000 for the U.S. and 300 for Canada. The MSRP for the car is $96,666, excluding destination and fees. Those interested in purchasing one can view available dealer allocations via the Dodge Horsepower Locator tool at DodgeGarage.com with ordering beginning on March 27th, 2023.

Here is the official Dodge reveal of the DC170 Demon, that occurred last night.

Watch this video, where the car was delivered by helicopter to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and then does a pass at 8.90 sec. @151 mph. (1.24 sec. for 60 foot). This makes it the fastest production car in history. Also, at the end of the video, there is the latest Dodge commercial.

Start the video starting at the 41-minute mark.

From watching several videos, I learned the following random things about the DC 170 Demon:

    • The 170 part of its DC 170 name comes from the C170 -liter supercharger that is used in the Hellephant engine.
    • If E85 fuel is not used, the engine can still produce 900 hp.
    • The car only comes with two red keys- no black key.
    • A connection point for a parachute is located behind the license plate. The chute can be ordered from Direct Connection.
    • There is a carbon fiber rear seat delete.
    • Comes with roll cage, per NHRA requirements.
    • No fender flairs on the front- only on the back to save 16 lbs.
    • Unique front and rear air spoilers.
    • 17" carbon fiber wheels- save 150 lbs.
    • Front carbon fiber air scoop gas has an "Alcohol Injected" decal.
    • A "Last Call" badge is under the hood.
    • Present Demon owners can get the same VIN.
    • Comes with 5-point racing harness.
    • Only the camshaft is a carry-over from the Hellcat.
    • Comes with AC, leather, Harmon Kardon stereo, etc.

Dodge stated that owners of existing Demons can purchase a DC170 Demon with the same VIN.

It cannot be the exact VIN or there would be title problems. Probably, Dodge could only guarantee the last 6 digits, as the 7th from the right (or 10th from the left) is the Year designation and they can’t be the same. Unlikely that all the first characters would be identical either as they provide information about the chassis, equipment etc., in addition to country of origin (i.e., U.S. or Canada).

It has been reported that many dealers will be marking up these cars $75-$100k over MSRP!
