Between these two cars what are the differences in performance specs? Which car has a better comfortable ride, isolate bumps in the road and handles less than perfect roads/bumpy roads?
The SRT (392) will be a more stiff ride than the R/T. The SRT does have 100 more horsepower......and a larger price tag
When I test drove the SRT-8 2012 Dodge Challenger I did notice that suspension dampening system did work as I could feel the difference in switching in between the two modes on the speed bumps in parking lot. One mode was stiffer and the other better to me softer. I haven't test drove the R/T Challenger. This is an important feature to me because we have crappy beat up roads here and one would think the high prices we pay here and this being the Golden state should have the best roads-NOT The Republik of Kalifornia IS the State of Chaos as far as I'm concerned.
I think every state is a state of chaos. And we all have bad roads. Makes you wonder where your tax dollar actually goes? If money isn't an issue, and you are coming from a Corvette judging by your screen name, i would go with the SRT. Every comparison that I have read/heard states that once you drive a SRT, you won't be happy with anything else. I am sure any less stiffness that the R/T may or may not have is minimal.
$$ here goes to a corrupt government/salaries/embezzlement. We pay the most $$$ here for the least. Corvette is light totally different feeling from what I could tell from test driving the 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 392. No gas mileage issues with corvette if MPG is important at $450+ per gal. I think the Challenger will make a better daily driver for me since it shouldn't have the ground clearance problems a Corvette has with bumps, driveways and parking curbs.
