How good is this car as a daily driver?
Does it have problems with curb rash, ground clearance of bottoming out on driveways or parking curbs like a Corvette does?

I can't speak for the 2012 however, my 2011 has none of the above problems. I am careful with parking curbs.

I can tell by looking at the distance between the front air dam/chin spoiler to ground that there is plenty of clearance or at least more.

I have a 2010 R/T and it rides great and handles the dips and speed bumps great. Drive a Challenger for a weekend and you will be hooked.

I usually see just the SE. Not sure they would ever rent out a srt, maybe a R/T. Depends on where you go to rent one.

The SE doesn't even feel the same as the other 2 models I would think.
Is renting the Challenger just for getting used to driving a car this size?

I think it will still have the same feel, but of course not the same spunk as a r/t or srt. Still might be worth renting.

I drive my 2012 SRT almost every day. Its hard to not take her out. Great as a daily driver. Need to take it slow over speed bumps but other than that everything else is cake. I have found that i am putting on miles fast ;) no pun intended. That is the only reason to not drive her daily.

I have noticed that i am hitting the guard in the front but to me that is no big deal just need to be more careful with parking curbs.

I know a couple who own a 2009 Challenger R/T and they have over 130K on their Challenger. It is driven everyday and their round trip to work is 75 miles a day. They are firm believers in that they bought their car to drive and enjoy, not just sit in the driveway and look at.
