2016 scat pack clanking noise at rear right.

I just bought a 2016 (86,000) scat pack with a 6 speed. There is a clanking sound that seems to be coming from the rear passenger side. It doesn’t matter if the car is in gear or not. When you go to stop it does it and when in gear and you take off it does it. I took it to a mechanic and he couldn’t find anything but definitely hears the noise. Anyone know what this could be?

My first guess would be brake caliper, but that seems like something the mechanic would have checked. After that, suspension bushings?

If you are mechanically inclined, jack up the back wheel and look for yourself. Sometimes things are obvious. SAFETY FIRST! Make sure to chock the other wheels, and use jackstands if you’re going to have any part of your body under the car.

 

Did this problem ever get resolved?
