Was just driving around in a neighborhood and my car started running hot got pulled over as fast as possible. When I opened the hood my reservoir was filling up . After letting it sit for about a gr the reservoir had dropped back down to normal fill line . Oil was not milkshaked no smoke out tail pipes cranked up fine drive it onto the flatbed . Could this have been a stuck thermostat and after sitting it opened back up letting water out of the reservoir? Since it was full when it ran hot .
I swapped out my thermostat for a Mishimoto 180 degree one. It failed 3 months later and my engine got up to around 245 degrees. I bought a new 180 from Ripp and it's been perfect. My mechanic said unless I hit about 260 degrees, there's no problem. You hit 260 or higher and you're ruining cylinder heads, etc.
Well they replaced both fans now they run . But it started doing the same thing filling the reservoir back up again so they replaced the thermostat since it was all crapped up car runs fine now . Hard to believe fans and thermostat went bad all at the same time ?
