If you notice a loud ticking or tapping noise coming from the top of your 3.6 engine, it could be a damaged rocker arm roller. Watch this engine tear-down.
If you remember right chrysler was adding 100,000 mile warranty after factory warranty had expired for the "right side head " only for this problem. i think it was around 2011 through 2012 ?
Owners of vehicles with the Pentastar 3.6 engine (2011-2013) received a letter from Chrysler in 2014, notifying them that it would extend the warranty period for the left cylinder head to 10 years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first) due to potential problems (applies to 3.6 engines built in 2011-2013). Symptoms were a misfire and activation of the MIF check engine light. Here is the Warranty Bulletin, D-14-12, dated June 10, 2014: MC-10069161-0335.pdf
my car was the right head and they replaced the complete head on the car in 2015 and in 2017 they then replaced the complete engine the following year under warranty and added 100,000 miles W/regardless of years , just miles only on my car. and i am 40,000 miles away from 100,000 miles, which will be approximately (8) years away, the car does not go very far.
