    Hello all.

First of I totally understand this is a car built to be driven hard most of the time.

Having said that, I have not driven a stick since back in early 2000's.

I see YT vids where people really open up these cars (widebody scats and hellcats). 1st gear they push it to 6 rpm and beyond.

Is assume pushing these cars to 6+ rpm's in 1-3rd gears is not someting good?

Just asking for some personal experience and/or advice on the risks.

    thx

The maximum rpm is 6,400 rpm for a 392.

Spinning the engine to 6,400 rpm (stock engine) isn't going to gain anything, however - power starts dropping off after 6,100 rpm and you're going to hit the rev limiter.

Obviously, if you constantly keep shifting at 6,400 rpm, it may shorten your engine and transmission life over time.

Years ago, I did this with my 340 'Cuda and ruined its "bullet-proof" slap-stick Torqueflite transmission after only 30,000 miles.
