Great video. At least the narrator was honest and not hammering Dodge like some videos. He gave all the good and pointed out some flaws.

But if you compare 1970's car to 2000 century, the old one will crush these new plastic toys for sure.. So I wouldnt be scared to drive and old muscle car ..
I just would kill myself if I would crash 1970's Challenger..

Actually, after owning a classic Challenger, I feel much more safe in the modern one. Remember the classics had a curb weight of 3020lbs, the modern weighs in at over 4000. I remember the fenders were not supported with very much behind them, no inner fender, no structure, nothing. And the back quarters weren't much better. I had a pop-up in the trunk once, turned a corner, it slid and made a ding in the rear quarter panel. The quarter panel was the trunk side, no inner. Also the doors had no inner structure either, just outer panel and window channels. Not the most solid.

The 1970 Challenger did weigh a lot less than the new version, but how much more all depended on the engine. For example, the base Challenger weighed only 3,119 lbs., but the same car with a 440 6-pack weighed a hefty 3,600 lbs.

My 1972 Challenger with the 318 was listed as a curb weight of 3020lbs
