Harley Davidson motorcycles are as all-American as muscle cars, with their deep rumble and fast acceleration.
Well, in January, the acceleration will be there but not the gasoline rumble. [IMG]
That's because its York, PA factory will be producing its first all electric motorcycle, the "Live Wire," to boost sales, especially international.

The electric bike’s aluminum chassis will hold a fast-charging lithium-ion battery, anti-lock brakes, adjustable suspension, and a liquid-crystal display designed for urban street riders. In place of Harley-Davidson’s “crown jewel” V-Twin engine, its electric motor and battery will sit in a stylish metal housing with functional cooling fins.

0-60 times are expected to be in less than 4 seconds.

Yea, my Kid is a Service Manager for Harley,
and they have been talking about this for years.
He has actually got to see and ride a Prototype.
The NDA he signed, he couldn't tell me much except it is QUICK, and quiet :(

Told him they need to put an MP3 player on with the Patented SOUND attached to the throttle.
