The other day, I ran over something in the road. I thought it was small enough to straddle, but it made a clunk when I hit it. It broke the plastic panel under the front of the car. I've been trying to find a replacement, but depending on where I look online, there's 2 different part numbers:

    05028807AF
    68242934AB

The car is a 2010 SRT with auto trans, if that matters. This panel is NOT the one with the 4 screws that you remove to do an oil change. It is the one in front of that one, that attaches to the underside of the front air dam and has a vent on each side that I assume is for cooling the front brakes.

Maybe the difference is whether or not the car has the front air dam, I know some of the earlier Challengers don't. Mine does, because it's an SRT.

Thanks in advance for any info someone can give. Kind of a bummer I hit that thing, shoulda been more careful, but to be honest, that pan was sorta chewed up anyway from years of hitting those stinkin' parking stones.

I am glad I left the banana skin on mine, hit a curb once or twice pulling up, luckily it scraped over it.

Thanks, guys, for the responses. Now you see the problem I was having. Clicking on the "What it Fits" button gave no consistent answer as to which one is the right part. To complicate matters, I managed to read the mostly ground off Mopar part number on the pan that came off my car, and that further confused the issue, cuz it is the 68242934AB. See here:

ALL of the online suppliers I checked said that was NOT the right part for my car. I'm not the first owner, so, was it replaced at some point before me? Who knows. In searching for the part on eBay, another part number popped up, this one was 05030943AB. Here's the results from a bunch of sites I checked:
    ____________________________05028807AF__05030943AB__68242934AB
    www.moparpartsinc.com_________Fits_________Fits_________No
    www.mopar.com________________No__________Fits_________No

    www.moparonlineparts.com______No__________Fits_________No
    www.mopargenuineparts.com____No__________Fits_________No
    www.factorychryslerparts.com___Fits__________Fits_________No
    www.moparwholesaleparts.com__No__________Fits_________No
    www.moparoempartsoutlet.com__No__________Fits_________No
    www.carid.com_________________Fits_________Fits_________No
    www.carparts.com______________Replacement numbered parts non-OEM

I'm pretty sure at this point that the 05028807 is the one WITHOUT air ducts and the 05030943 is the one WITH air ducts. I'm gonna guess that the one with no ducts is for cars without the lower air dam. Both of those seem to be for cars 2014 and before. The 68242934 is for cars 2015 and after.

Most sites wanted around $200 for the 05030943 plus shipping. I opted for an unofficial one from eBay for around $75 with free shipping. I knew I was taking a chance that it was a piece of crap, but it turned out to be pretty nice. Frankly, I can't tell the difference between the two. See for yourselves:

The only difference I found was that my original has a plastic pin to help hold the air duct in place, which the replacement one didn't.

Here's the label from the new part:

It went in just fine. Here's what it looks like installed:

Hope this helps anyone facing a similar repair.

Glad it worked out for you. Can't beat E-Bay for prices.

Seems odd that it broke where it did (you probably couldn't repeat it if you tried). What type of fastener is that? I would've cleaned up the broken piece with a grinder and found a way to fasten it, but I'm 'squeaky cheap'.

That soft plastic doesn't take well to adhesive, best I find is to stitch something like that with cable ties, or fish plate with sheet metal strips and screws, but for $75 to $200 I'm not putting a cob like that on my Challenger.

Good find on Ebay, Fritz.

I can relate, :D but SexyBlue is right, that stuff is almost impossible to glue reliably, plus, I didn't have the broken piece to even try it. $75 ain't bad to repair it right and (hopefully) not hafta crawl back under there until the next oil change.

What type of fasteners are those (5 of them in pic)?
