I do have a question I’m sure one of you experts can help me with

I need to replace my carbon fiber stripes on my 08 SRT8. Is there a thread that can help with removal installation including best company to buy the new ones from.
    Thanks!!! Scott

The carbon fiber hood stripes that came on the 2008-2009 SRTs were made by Kay Automotive Graphics, exclusively for Chrysler. Chrysler owns the rights to the die cut and the pattern for the graphics. It will not release the pattern to the public due to the fact that the SRTs were special edition cars and should look unique.

However, the following three companies sell carbon fiber vinyl hood stripes that have a similar pattern. They are as close to the original that you will get. I would try to get samples for a match.

Heat is your friend for removing vinyl. If you have a heat gun, try warming the area and peeling by hand. Be careful that you do not have it too hot and linger in one area to long. You don't want to blister your paint. Harbor Freight has an inexpensive one that I've been using for 6 or 7 years now.

The heat gun is the key as Niles said. I removed factory stripes on my first R/T and it was easy, but the stripes were new. I didn’t have a heat gun, just an old blow dryer so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
