I recently purchased a 2020 Challenger Scat Pack with 7,500 miles. I notice when I put the car in reverse, back up, then put it in drive......it takes 2-3 seconds for it to actually engage in drive. Anyone else experience this? Thanks ! Jet
Check your transmission fluid level. If your car did not include a dip stick you can purchase one from Amazon. It may simply be low. Changing out the filter and fluid may also correct the issue.
I don't believe the newer. ZF transmissions have dip sticks. I have a 2020 with the 850re ZF no dip stick...
It is very difficult to check transmission fluid level, even if you purchase a dipstick. This is because there is no way to ascertain fluid temperature. The correct fluid level is dependent upon the fluid’s temperature, which is not easily ascertained without a dealer scan tool.
Yeah....my car does not have a dip-stick. The trans temp seems to be good..... but the delay is a pain in the ___!
You'll find the transmission fill tube in the engine bay with a cap on it reading 'for dealer use only' which is easily removed. This is what you'll need to check level at operating temp. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/28516514749...qdjl8NWixP0PhNE6dsCr70LPo=|tkp:Bk9SR8SAu9T1Yg
A slight pause going from reverse to drive is normal! Mine is a 21 and I've driven a few others and they have all been the same.
And just learned about engine oil / trans fluid extractors which are inserted into engine oil dipstick tube and / or trans fill tube for fluid removal which my neighbor reports remove 100%.
