Years ago when I had my detailing business, I used mostly Meguiars products. Nowadays, most of my detailing products are still Meguiars.

LOTS of great products on that list.

I used my Dad's "J-Wax Kit" from the '60s and '70s and eventually graduated to Meguiars in the '80s (?). But I sort of, perhaps erroneously, blamed them for a clear coat issue on '90 Honda Accord and began looking for something else.

Then in the early-mid '90s my wife and my mom gave me a trip to the Richard Petty Driving Experience and noticed that Mothers was one of their sponsors. I had a blast and the cars all looked really good so I decided to give Mothers a try. I do love the deep, warm look of their Carnauba Wax. Though I am intrigued by the Ceramic Carnauba Hybrid that that they're bringing to market. I admit to being a little envious of the longevity of today's ceramic products. However, many of the ceramic-coated cars I see have more "glare" than "glow and depth."

If Griots had been available in stores back then, I might have gone that route. I have friends that swear by Chemical Guys and Adam's.

Years back I used Maguires and then shifted to Mothers. I finished off the detailing with a coat of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax (liquid). I'm now starting to shift to McKee's 37 ceramic products but still like the gloss and protection of the Collinite.

When I was doing car shows I loved Adams Butter Wax but my go to for lasting shine is Maguires paste. I use a buffer for either and the longer lasting Maguires holds up for many washes with minimal work and it doesn't screw up black areas if you hit it accidently with wax

Have you tried Meguiars' Ultimate Liquid Wax? It goes on great and provides a long lasting shine.

I have but I like the spread I get with paste wax more, I store my wax in the laundry room to keep it perfect year round and I usually clay bar the old off every third waxing.

There is something about using a good paste wax that just seems to feel right.
