    An interesting side note is that while Chrysler never managed to get a gas-turbine-powered car into actual production, they did (via Chrysler Defense) come up with a VERY successful gas-turbine-powered vehicle for the military; the M1 Abrams main battle tank! :D

    Great point. The big difference is that the military didn't have to worry about cost, emissions or gas mileage. This 62-ton monster gets .6 mpg.
