In the late 60s and early 70s, there were some big block engines that put out massive amounts of torque. Which one of these was king?

Answer below. Don't peek before voting.

    Cadillac 500- 550 lb./ft.

Here's is the torque of the MOPARS:

    Dodge/Plymouth 440-6- 490 lb./ft.
    Dodge/Plymouth 426- 490 lb./ft.

My old 440 Gran Fury interceptor had some good torque, but I can't say how the others were since I did not drive them all.

Well I should have figured Cadillac would be the winner because they needed a lot of tongue to get that tank moving.
But the Buick wasn't bad with 510 torque.

The ratings of horsepower & torque in the 60's & 70's from the auto manufacturers were all over the place in regards to published ratings being accurate.

Forgot to mention that changing diff ratio affects torque at the wheels. I've gone to a 3.91 from the 3.07 for the impact it brings.

I assume you won't be doing any extended interstate driving with your high revving engine.
