Chrysler is recalling 5 million vehicles for a software cruise control problem. The 2015-2018 Challenger models are affected. Owners will be notified by Chrysler next week. The condition can occur if the cruise control accelerates at the same time an electrical short-circuit happens. But the brakes are designed to overpower the engine and the vehicles could still be stopped. Shifting into park would cancel the cruise, but tapping the brakes or turning off the cruise control button will not work. The recall was noted in the monthly Vehicle Health report for my wife's '17 Durango R/T that I received via email today. Looks like 6-speed manuals are not part of the recall. Seems that we have different cruise control software than the automatic vehicles.
My wife's 2017 Challenger GT AWD will be recalled, but my 2016 R/T Plus won't thanks to the 6-Speed in mine.
I logged onto dodge.com / mopar, put my VIN in and there is no recall listed. I also called my dealer, no idea. 2017 GT AWD. Great.....
Here is more information on the software update. http://money.cnn.com/2018/05/25/autos/fca-recall-cruise-control/index.html

i just had the recall done on my 2017 Ram. next up is my wife's 2016 Grand Cherokee. but all they do is just hook up their computer and do a software update , took the tech about 10 minutes to do the whole thing and I was out of there.
